I have traded. Made profits and losses. My concern is what is taxed, the final outcome of my account (tax net profit?) or all the times I have profited at each trade. Do not know how these taxes work and need an internet source to look it up.

I am looking at backtesting a strategy and need a program to do that on.

I have seen some on the internet and they are confusing. I do not even know how to do java /code programming well (which some programs require you to use).

So in conclusion, what has worked for you? Looking for advice in regard to a back tester program.
